Father’s Day Restaurant Sydney 2026 — The Heritage Precinct, Parramatta

The best Father’s Day in Sydney is not a Sunday roast. It is not a pub lunch with a pre-set menu and a bottle of wine the restaurant chose. It is not a reservation at a restaurant where the kitchen produces the same experience on Father’s Day as it does every other night, because nothing about the occasion was designed with a father in mind. The best Father’s Day in Sydney is an evening at The Heritage Precinct, Parramatta — and it has three chapters.

Chapter One — Heritage Lounge

Arrive at Heritage Lounge from 3pm on Sundays. The back bar is one of the most considered rare spirits programmes in Australia: aged Scotch from the great Speyside and Islay houses, Japanese single malts from Hibiki and Nikka, Tasmanian from Lark, and the world’s longest-aged single malt Scotch whisky ever bottled — Decanter No. 69 of the Gordon & MacPhail Generations Glenlivet 1940, 80 Year Old. One of only 250 in existence worldwide. For a father who knows what he is looking at, this back bar is the most significant whisky collection available to drink from in greater Sydney. For a father who does not yet know — the bar team guides the experience, and the experience converts.

The LIBATION TREASURY cocktail programme is 54 pages of original preparations. The barrel-aged expressions — including the Wagyu Wealth, a bourbon fat-washed overnight with Hida A5 Wagyu fat — are the kind of specific detail that tells a father he is somewhere that takes things seriously.

Chapter Two — Oribu

From Heritage Lounge, Oribu is on the same level. The AGFG Chef-Hatted Japanese restaurant — the only Chef-Hatted restaurant in Parramatta — opens from 5pm Wednesday to Sunday, including Father’s Day Sunday September 7. The omakase format means every guest has the same experience: the same seasonal progression, the same surprises, the same conversation between courses. No one is deliberating over the menu while the occasion is waiting to begin. The kitchen makes the decisions. Sonia Arida works in the kitchen. The building — a Circa 1928 former Bank of New South Wales with high ceilings and an olive tree at the centre of the dining room — provides a setting that every father will remember specifically, which is the point.

Chapter Three — Le Cheval

Le Cheval is the specific reason The Heritage Precinct is the definitive Father’s Day destination for fathers who appreciate the premium cigar. Cuban cigars exclusively — Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta, Partagas, Trinidad, H. Upmann, Bolivar — alongside an exclusive house roll produced by Hector Luis, master torcedor, and the Robaina family of Vuelta Abajo. Available nowhere else in Australia. The cognac collection alongside it — Hennessy XO, Hine Antique XO, Rémy Martin Louis XIII. The evening ends at its own pace. For a father who has earned an evening that does not rush, that pace is the gift.
