Fine Dining Parramatta — The Heritage Precinct on Church Street
Parramatta’s restaurant scene has grown considerably over the past decade — more choice, more cuisines, more competent kitchens than the area had ten years ago. Fine dining, specifically, is a shorter list. At 215 Church Street, on one level of a Circa 1928 former Bank of New South Wales, The Heritage Precinct has built the version of fine dining Parramatta didn’t have: a Chef-Hatted kitchen, a rare spirits programme most Sydney venues can’t match, and a cigar room that exists nowhere else in the state.
Oribu — The Kitchen
Oribu is the only AGFG Chef-Hatted restaurant in Parramatta, awarded through anonymous professional review and held across consecutive years only by kitchens sustaining a defined standard. The kitchen serves an omakase menu built around the Japanese principle of shun — the peak moment of each ingredient — so the menu genuinely changes with the season rather than simply relabelling itself. Sonia Arida works in the kitchen; the dining room is built around a fifty-year-old olive tree at its centre.
Heritage Lounge — Before and Between
Next door, Heritage Lounge carries a rare spirits programme that includes closed-distillery Scotch, Japanese single malts, and Decanter No. 69 of the Gordon & MacPhail Generations Glenlivet 1940, 80 Year Old — one of only 250 in the world. The LIBATION TREASURY, a 54-page cocktail menu, gives the same collection a second life through original preparations built around it.
Le Cheval — After
Le Cheval closes the evening with Cuban cigars exclusively and an exclusive house roll from master torcedor Hector Luis and the Robaina family of Vuelta Abajo, available nowhere else in Australia, alongside a cognac collection that includes Hennessy XO, Hine Antique XO, and Rémy Martin Louis XIII.
One Building, Three Decisions
None of this was assembled to impress a search engine’s idea of fine dining. It is simply what the building holds, on one level, inside a room that arrived with its authority already built in — high ceilings, thick masonry, the proportions of a bank built in 1928 to communicate that something important happens here. It communicates the same thing about dinner in 2026.
