Frequently Asked Questions

What different things do I need to hire?

All kegs require a beer dispensing unit to chill and pour the beer. If you don’t own your own beer dispensing system, this means you will need to order both a keg/s and a dispensing unit. We can also provide complementary glasses or polycarbonate glassware for hire, if you need them.

Don’t worry – when you book your keg, our events team will run you through all the details and ensure you will have everything you need during your celebration.

What is a coupler?

Different breweries use different kegs and different kegs use different couplers. Our kegs take a coupler type fitting. A coupler is a fitting that attaches to the top of the keg, so you can pump gas in and beer out. If you’re hiring kegs and equipment from us, then don’t worry, we’ll make sure you get what you need, including a coupler!

How many glasses does one keg dispense?

A standards 50L keg will provide between 115-180 glasses, depending on whether you’re pouring pots or schooners.

Do I keep the keg once it’s empty?

The keg remains property of Heritage Lounge, so you’re essentially just purchasing the product inside of it. Our delivery drivers will pick up the keg after your event, at a convenient time for you.

How early do kegs need to be booked?

To ensure we will have a keg available for you, be sure to book as early as possible. We do have a large range of beers and ciders in stock at all times, so if you need a keg or dispensing unit at last minute, contact our events team and we will see what we can arrange for you.

How many hours are included in the hire price?

Hours? More like days! Our keg hire and mobile dispensing unit hire includes four days. This will give you plenty of time to prepare before the event, plus time to consume any leftovers once the event is finished.

Can I use my own beer tap?

If you have your own beer tap at home, we can provide you with a keg and swap the empty on your next order with us. All empty kegs are property of Heritage lounge and must be returned or picked up.

Is there a bondage fee?

We don’t take a bond, but we will request that you complete a credit card authorisation in case our gear is stolen, damaged or lost while in your care.

How do you operate/use a keg and mobile bar?

You don’t need any previous experience or knowledge to pour the beer from one of our kegs – it’s really easy! To ensure you know what to do, we’ll demonstrate how to use the keg when we deliver it to your home or venue.

What number of kegs should I get for my event?

There are several factors to consider when planning the number of kegs you need for your event, including type of party, age of guests, and time of day. We’ve planned hundreds of events in the past, so we’ll be able to recommend a number based on some quick calculations. Just contact us for a complementary consultation.

What is the delivery fee?

The cost to deliver our mobile dispensing units and kegs depends on your location and order size. We’ll include the cost in our quote.

What if I want to pick the keg up?

We’re happy for you to pick up the equipment and kegs yourself, however you will need a suitable car or trailer to do so. Contact our team for more information.
